Hospital room with a bed. If you're looking for a locally owned and operated experienced commercial cleaning company for your medical office, call us at (713) 472-4162.

During the winter months, doctors' offices, urgent care facilities and hospitals are busy with adults and children with colds and flu. It is important that these facilities are cleaned nightly to spread any of the viruses that walk through the door. Did you know that on average, adults get two to three colds per year and children might come down with as many as six to 10, according to the CDC, prompting millions of visits to healthcare providers annually.

Not only is important for the facilities to be clean for the sick patients, but for the doctors, nurses and administrative staff to stay healthy. The staff members likely do a routing cleaning before and after patients are in the procedure rooms a commercial cleaner can sanitize to reduce germs and disinfect to kill germs.

A nightly routine done by commercial cleaning is vital for facilities that need sanitizing and disinfecting to protect patients and staff from contagions that can linger on surfaces such as door handles, counter-tops, toilets, sink handles and other high-contact areas. Areas that require extra cleaning in medical facilities:

  • Lobby and Waiting Areas
  • Examination Rooms
  • Procedure Rooms
  • Corridors
  • Bathrooms
  • Administration Areas
  • Check in Area

Beyond fighting germs, medical facilities must present a pristine appearance to gain the trust of patients and families. Commercial cleaners can properly and routinely maintain other areas in medical facilities as well. Keeping your medical facility clean and healthy is a top priority for SERVPRO. Your patients are counting on you to protect them. Commercial Cleaning Tips

12/5/2022 (Permalink)

Commercial Cleaning Spruce up your office!

A good commercial cleaning helps to give workers a more open and less hectic environment; additionally, a clean and welcoming place of business helps to attract customers. Here is a list of some important areas to inspect during your deep cleaning:

OUTSIDE

  • Windows

Windows are one of the simplest yet crucial areas to keep clean.  Beyond making sure you have squeaky clean windows, check to make sure they have tight seals.  Small gaps in window seals can cause cool air to seep out (and warm air in the winter months), as well as allowing water to trickle in. Checking caulking and weather stripping remains intact and up to par can save you money in the long term.

  • Landscaping

This is very important for the presentation of your business.  Now the grass, flowers, weeds and other plants are starting to grow, it’s important to start grooming your landscape.  Don’t wait till your plants get out of control, hire someone now or take some time yourself to pull the weeds, mow the grass, and trim any trees or bushes.  Additionally, this is a great time to plant some flowers if you want to spruce up your place of business.

  • AC/HVAC

When converting your buildings air flow system from heating to air conditioning now is the best time to quality check your system.  Test your system by running it for a while to make sure it’s working properly, check any old or out of date parts that might need replacing.  Clean out the ventilation system by removing dust particles and any other debris lying inside.  Ventilation systems are rarely cleaned, which is why lots of building owners tend to find pest infestation or mold problems when cleaning their vents/ducts.  It’s best to take these precautions while the temperature is in a transitioning period.

  • Pest Maintenance

Along with the re-birthed trees and plants, spring also brings back hordes of pests.  Ants, spiders, termites, mosquitoes, and even bed bugs can become a problem.  It’s best to take preventative measures to ward off pests instead of being forced to shut the business down for a couple weeks in order to fumigate for pests. Lastly, if you are continually having the same pest problems each year, try to identify exterior factors that might be attracting those pests and any defects in your building that might be letting them in.

INSIDE

  • Dusting

Simple and effective.  Even if you already dust on a regular basis now’s a good time to dust those harder to reach, and often ignored, areas.

  • Flooring/Carpets

As people come in from the rainy times and wipe their feet on your carpets, dirt begins to build up.  Don’t let this grime buildup in your building; buy some strong cleaning products for your floors and a top-quality vacuum for carpets. In addition to constantly maintaining floors and carpets, now is a great time to hire a professional carpet and floor cleaner to give your floors a deep clean.

  • Reorganization

Reorganizing comes in two parts.  The first is the organizing of all the previous year's files into a consolidated area for ease of access.  Best practice is to do this at the beginning of every year so that your files are neatly organized and easy to find when needed.  The second is the reorganization of the office itself. Ideally, this is a continuing process year-round.  If the office has gotten out of hand this can be a good time of year to tidy up and breathe some fresh air into the workplace.  Depending on your type of business will help determine what type of cleaning takes priority. If you need extra help or an even deeper clean call SERVPRO to help!

Preventative Measures

In the office environment, there are some things you can do to minimize the risk of damage due to water leaks.

  • It is beneficial to educate your Office Managers on water damage preparedness.
  • This means that your managers should know how to turn off the water, electric, and gas supply.
  • They should know who to call in order to have these items completed.
  • Keep basic tools in the office in the event of an emergency.
  • Create and maintain a list of emergency contact phone numbers for all employees.
  • Maintain contact information for your local fire and police numbers for medical emergencies.

Response

Rapid response is critical to water damage in the office. The longer you wait to mitigate, mold can develop creating the need for commercial mold removal services.

Water Damage and Thermal Imaging

3/10/2022 (Permalink)

Thermal Camera Just know when you call SERVPRO of South Pasadena, you are getting the best technology used in the industry.

When it comes to the latest tools of the trade, SERVPRO of South Pasadena spares no expense equipping our team.

One of the best tools in our toolbox is the thermal imaging camera. Thermal imaging technology uses infrared radiation to measure heat differences. This creates a color picture of the area being evaluated.

The biggest value of using thermal imaging comes to us during a water loss situation. With a thermal imaging camera, we can literally look behind walls, ceilings, and floors to determine if the possibility of water is present.

When used in conjunction with a moisture meter, we can narrow down the cause of your problem. In the past, we would have needed to do exploratory demolition which is costly.

On a recent loss in a commercial building where the loss started on an upper floor, we were able to assess the wet areas quickly and accurately. The pictures illustrate the wet areas in dark colors and allow us to focus specifically on those areas.

Just know when you call SERVPRO of South Pasadena, you are getting the best technology used in the industry. This equipment is in the hands of our talented and dedicated teammates and will help us make your situation “Like it never even happened.”

Was Your Business Smoke-Damaged?

1/24/2022 (Permalink)

Commercial fire damage We respond to commercial fire damage emergencies 24-hours a day.

Commercial businesses rely on us to remove smoke odor.

SERVPRO® of South Pasadena invests heavily in specialized equipment to efficiently restore smoke damage in properties like yours. Depending on the type of fuel burned and the severity of the smoke damage, we may use one or a combination of the following types of equipment:

Air Scrubber or Filter

Heating, ventilation, air conditioning system (HVAC) air scrubber or a high-efficiency particulate air filter (HEPA) air purifier is useful for capturing larger smoke molecules. There will still be some residual odor from smaller molecules or surface residues.

Ozone Generator

This is a fast and highly effective smoke odor restoration method. These machines emit ozone, which follows the same paths through the air as smoke and oxidizes any residual traces in the air or on surfaces.

Thermal Fogging

Thermal fogging is an intensive treatment involving fogging machines. After people evacuate, smoke cleaning professionals fill a structure with petroleum distillates that neutralize odors and ventilate the area.

Hydroxyl Generator

A hydroxyl generator relies on ultraviolet light to generate hydroxyl radicals that eliminate smoke odors.

Vapor Modification

Vapor modification is another odor elimination method that relies on aromatic compounds and a blower or fan to neutralize smoke odor.

Waterborne Dangers

11/19/2021 (Permalink)

Flooded area Waterborne Dangers

Waterborne Dangers in Commercial Properties

Standing water is an ideal place for microorganisms, like bacteria, and viruses, to breed. The chances of standing water becoming a breeding ground increases when the water damage contains toxins and sewage. Even if the floodwater comes from a clean source, the microorganisms that breed.

Dampness is another risk worthy of concern. The dampness of household items, furnishings, and even the building can create an environment that encourages the growth of mold, dust mites, microorganisms, and cockroaches.

Why Cleanup After a Flood is Important

Cleaning up after a flood or water damage should be a priority. The cleanup process should also be handled with care. Any items that get cleaned must be cleaned properly. Throw away anything that cannot get cleaned or is damaged beyond repair.

Excess moisture after a flood or water damage negatively impacts indoor air quality. Because of this, flooded areas need thorough cleaning as soon as possible. Here are a few of the problems caused by moisture:

The environment becomes perfect for the reproduction and growth of microorganisms that cause health effects.
Long-term exposure to humidity is ideal for the population of dust mites.
Anyone involved with cleaning up after a flood or water damage should wear proper attire that includes masks and gloves. Coming into contact with many of these contaminants can cause illness.

The Cleanup Process

No one enjoys cleaning up after a flood or water damage, but its importance cannot be overestimated. The health of everyone who lives in the home may be affected. Depending on the severity of the water damage, the cleaning process can be an arduous task. Here are the necessary steps that need to be taken.

  1. Find the source of the leak and stop it.
  2. Figure out who could get affected
  3. Determine the extent of the problem
  4. Formulate a cleanup plan

The plan needs to involve removing water-damaged items and furniture while protecting those involved in the cleanup process. Any items that can be salvaged should be cleaned. Those that cannot be cleaned should get thrown away. Any items that sat in water for 24 to 48 hours needs to get thrown away. Once everything is clean, do a final check to assess the thoroughness of the task. Throughout the process, make sure everyone involved is wearing protective gear.

It is important to not rely solely on air purification devices to get the job done. Proper cleaning and throwing away damaged items from water damage is the only way to clean after a flood.

We are available 24 hours/7 days a week and are ready to restore your home or commercial structure caused by:

  • Water Damage
  • Fire Damage
  • Disaster, storm, and flood damage

Fire Awareness Tips

Extinguisher Fire-safety tips focused on keeping the workplace safe.

Here are a few fire-safety tips focused on keeping the workplace safe.

  1. Keep your workplace clean and organized. Mess contributes to fires by providing more fuel to the flames and by limiting access to exits and emergency equipment.
  2. Place all oily/chemical covered rags in a seal-able metal container. Dispose of this waste on a regular basis.
  3. Keep machinery on an appropriate maintenance schedule and keep to it, to prevent overheating and sparks.
  4. Report all electrical hazards immediately faulty wiring is a common cause of fires along with and malfunctioning electrical equipment. Never attempt electrical repairs unless you are qualified and authorized.
  5. Have easy access to all electrical control panels. Clutter and equipment stored in front of the panels slow down your ability to shut down the power in emergencies.
  6. Use and store chemicals safely. Read the label and the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) to determine if the substances are flammable or hazardous in any way. Provide proper ventilation when using and storing these substances.
  7. Smoke only in designated areas and extinguish smoking materials safely and thoroughly. Never smoke in storerooms or chemical storage areas. Never exposes areas containing chemicals to open flames of any variety.
  8. Never block sprinklers, firefighting equipment, or emergency exits.
  9. Have an emergency information list near telephones. The list should include emergency numbers, company address, and fire evacuation plans.
  10. Learn the location of all fire extinguishers and how to properly use them.

Dry Out Your Property & Contents

1/25/2021 (Permalink)

Water damage cleanup For help with wet books, call SERVPRO of South Pasadena at (713) 472-4162 today.

Naturally, you do not want your business’ or institutions’ books to get wet, and in the event of water damage, it is natural to panic.

However, professional water removal can help preserve and save books. Even books that are entirely soaked might be salvageable using a robust process known as freeze drying. First, documents are freeze dried to preserve their current state. Then, we place them in a specialist freeze-drying chamber, and all air is suctioned out. A combination of pressure and temperature are used to evaporate water and collect it outside the chamber.

SERVPRO understands that the sight of wet books and papers is upsetting and it is natural to want to take action as soon as possible. However, we recommend caution and offer the following guidelines.

Stop water flow if it is safe to do so, to prevent further harm to delicate books.

We suggest taking unaffected papers to another, drier, location if you can, to prevent them from being affected.

It is essential that the affected area is kept dry and cold. We recommend using a dehumidifier if possible to reduce humidity. You can use a fan for moving the air and aiding the drying process. Do not panic if you do not have access to the correct equipment - our IICRC-certified technicians arrive equipped with dehumidifiers and fans ready to do the job.

Be very careful with water-logged books. Do not open the volumes, remove their bindings, or fan the pages. Handle each item as little as possible until our staff arrives.

If water is still dripping from a leak or broken pipe or roof, spread plastic sheeting over collections to protect them from drips.

Swift action is vitally important. The sooner books are frozen, the higher the chance of salvaging them successfully. That is why we recommend putting in a call to SERVPRO as soon as you can. Our IICRC-certified technicians are ready to remove water from the floor, reduce humidity, encourage evaporation and, most importantly, carefully take your books for freeze-drying.

For help with wet books, call SERVPRO of South Pasadena at (713) 472-4162 today.

Sewage Damage? 4 Steps To Take

1/12/2021 (Permalink)

Sewer cleanup Sewage damage is never pretty, but it doesn't have to be debilitating. Call US to Cleanup!

Four Things To Do If You Find Sewage Damage In Your Business

Discovering sewage damage in your business can be both harrowing and disgusting. However, you'll need to be on your toes for the sewer cleanup. If it's more than a simple floor leak, specific measures need to be taken. While a restoration company can do the cleaning, there are a few procedures you may carry out. Here are four things to do if you find sewage damage in your business.

1. Unplug and Turn Off Nearby Electronics
First and foremost, it's essential to get rid of any safety hazards around the sewer backup. Make sure anything that runs on electricity is turned off and/or unplugged. Here are some items to look out for in a business setting:

  • Computers
  • Chargers
  • Televisions
  • Video Equipment

Don't try to use anything electronic that was in the area. If the water touches one of these items, the surrounding area could become dangerous.

2. Open Windows
Mold is a serious concern after sewage damage occurs. Therefore, airing out your space is an essential task if you want to deter it. The fresh air also helps to get rid of any putrid smells from, for instance, a flooded toilet.

3. Remove Endangered Items
Anything that's been contaminated by the sewage should be left to the professionals, but it's prudent to remove non-contaminated items from the area. If the water keeps leaking, it's liable to reach more of your property. Keep in mind that contaminated items might be restorable.

4. Inspect the Damage
The entire sewer cleanup process will go faster if you know what needs to be done. Without coming in contact with the sewage, try to see what damage has been caused. Make sure that restoration experts know your findings. If you can tell that something can't be restored and must be replaced, you'll be able to start that process immediately.

Sewage damage is never pretty, but it doesn't have to be debilitating. Stay attentive and know what steps to take. Once the sewer cleanup is over, you can know you did your best for the business.

Water Damage? What To Do Until Help Arrives

1/8/2021 (Permalink)

Water damage There are actions you can take to lessen the damage until our team arrives, thus saving money and time.

When your commercial property suffers water damage, every second to recovery counts.

Commercial water damage can be especially devastating since more often than not, it affects more than just a single occupant of the building. It can lead to loss of income for businesses, and severe hardship for any employees if they cannot return to work for a period of time. For these reasons, and more, you need a clean-up and restoration company you can trust. SERVPRO of South Pasadena is that company!

There are actions you can take to lessen the damage until our team arrives, thus saving money and time.

WATER DAMAGE FROM CLEAN WATER

DO:

  • Shut off the water source if possible, or contact a qualified party to stop the water.
  • Turn off circuit breakers for wet areas of the building, when access to the power distribution panel is safe from electrical shock.
  • Remove as much excess water as possible by mopping and blotting.
  • Wipe excess water from wood furniture after removing lamps and tabletop items.
  • Remove and prop up wet upholstery cushions for even drying.
  • Place aluminum foil or wood blocks between furniture legs and wet carpeting.
  • Remove to a safe, dry place any paintings, art objects, computers, documents and other materials that are valuable or sensitive to moisture.
  • Use wooden clothespins to keep furniture skirting off damp floors.
  • Hang draperies with coated hangers to avoid contact with wet carpeting or floors.

 DON’T

  • Enter rooms with standing water where electrical shock hazards may exist.
  • Enter affected areas if electrical outlets, switches, circuit breakers or electrical equipment are exposed to water. Always avoid electrical shock hazards.
  • Leave books, newspapers, magazines or other colored items on wet carpets or floors to cause staining.
  • Leave Oriental rugs or other colored rugs on wet wall-to-wall carpets to cause staining.
  • Use your household vacuum cleaner to remove water, possibly causing electrical shock or damage to the vacuum cleaner.
  • Use TV’s or other appliances while standing on wet carpets or floors, especially not on wet concrete floors.
  • Turn on ceiling fixtures if ceiling is wet or enter rooms where ceilings are sagging from retained water.

WATER DAMAGE FROM CONTAMINATED WATER

DO:

  • Avoid all contact with sewage and items contaminated by sewage.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly after contact with contaminated items.

DON’T

  • Spread contaminated water by walking unnecessarily on damaged or wet areas.
  • Turn on the HVAC system if there is a possibility of spreading contaminated air.

Team SERVPRO Arrives Quickly to Dry Out Commercial Property

12/31/2020 (Permalink)

commercial water damage SERVPRO of South Pasadena is here to help reopen the doors to customers.

Houston flooding can shut a business down for a day, a week, or longer. The water, particularly if it is contaminated, must be removed quickly by a professional service. It reduces the amount of damage, reopens the business, and is preferred by the insurance companies.

When there is a shutdown after commercial water damage, businesses need to reopen to support their customers, employees, and owners.  We begin with a quick inspection to determine the type of water, tools we need, and how many technicians required for the job. Most water damage in municipal or government offices comes from a burst pipe that brought water into the building. The water is clean, meaning it contains no contaminants and requires no special actions or protective gear.

If the damage includes a clogged toilet or a broken, outgoing sewer line, then the water contains some contaminants. This water is gray or black, depending on the amount present. Our work crews wear protective boots at the minimum and in extreme cases, a full protective suit. Before we start to pump out gray or black water, SERVPRO technicians spray an anti-microbial chemical agent on the water surface. Once we remove the water, we spray the chemical agent on all surfaces the water covered.

In these buildings, there are few carpets except in some private offices or waiting areas. If the water was contaminated, we remove them as soon as we can and spray the area underneath with an anti-microbial agent. If the water was clean, technicians use extraction wands to draw out nearly all of it and then move on to drying the facility.

With the threat of contamination removed along with the water, we dry the facility. For any traces of water, we use long-handled squeegees to push it off the floor and outside the building. Finally, we set up fans to draw the damp air outside. To replace it, we install air movers at key points to force warm, dry air across floors and walls. Technicians direct and control the level of this air flow to prevent additional damage while drying everything.

Regardless if it is a government services building or your private business, SERVPRO of South Pasadena is here to help reopen the doors to customers. For more information on what our restoration teams can do for you, call us today at (713) 472-4162.

Commercial Mold Remediation

12/30/2020 (Permalink)

Mold logo Commercial facilities have their own concerns compared to a home, but SERVPRO of South Pasadena is ready to help!

Getting the water out of a structure is often the easy part of clean-up after a flood or plumbing failure. Depending on the building and its construction materials, trying to dry it out and deal with any mold problems can be more time consuming and expensive.

SERVPRO has extensive experience in the Houston and surrounding areas dealing with commercial mold damage. Many of the commercial buildings we clean are constructed from cinder blocks which have their own special requirements.

The open cells in cinder blocks can retain a significant amount of water or moisture if the affected walls have equalized with the surrounding environment. This means that the humidity and temperature have become roughly the same inside and out. When that occurs, there is little to no transfer of moisture from the wall to the outside. This is when our technicians may have to drill a series of holes near the bottom of the wall to assist in removing standing water and increase moisture transfer. This is done through the mortar between the blocks which can be easily repaired and patched. If the affected wall has either a gloss or semi-gloss paint on the outside, then this will have to be done as the paint acts as a vapor barrier which reduces transfer even further.

All of this has to be completed before mold can be cleaned and removed. While it may seem that we have to do is leave the wall alone, you have to remember that a mold growth smaller than a pinhead contains hundreds of spores. These spores can escape or grow through even the smallest crack to infect areas of a building that may have even been water free originally. Once the water and moisture have been dried, our technicians will use anti-fungal foggers to destroy the spores in the wall. Then, they will set up exhaust fans and specialized vacuums with HEPA filters to remove everything possible.

Commercial facilities have their own concerns compared to a home, but SERVPRO of South Pasadena is ready to support all of our neighbors and fellow business owners. If you notice excessive moisture or have that "musty odor" which indicates the presence of mold, call us today at (713) 472-4162.

The Science of Drying

12/24/2020 (Permalink)

flooded area We are trained in the science of drying and follow strict industry-approved standards to help lower the chances of any secondary damages.

Did you know there is actually a science behind the process of drying?  The knowledge of psychrometrics is essential to restoring a water damaged structure to its pre loss condition. While your initial reaction may be to grab a few towels to mop up the mess and place a fan or two around the damaged area, your local SERVPRO® of South Pasadena Franchise Professionals are trained in the science of drying and follow strict industry-approved standards to help lower the chances of any secondary damages. If your business suffers a water damage, your local SERVPRO® of South Pasadena will:

  • Inspect the building to detect every component that is wet, to help prevent secondary damage from happening.
  • Measure how much moisture is in wet materials and monitor whether the materials are drying properly.
  • Speed up Mother Nature by using professional drying equipment.

What exactly does “speed up Mother Nature” mean? A wet building can often dry naturally because the environment always seeks equilibrium. When materials are wet, moisture will naturally move to drier air at the surface of the material–but only if the air is, indeed, drier. The only problem is, nature often takes too long and secondary damages may occur while the building is drying out. For this reason, your local SERVPRO® of South Pasadena have been trained to use top-of-the-line equipment to help Mother Nature along, including equipment to help dry hardwood floors, tough-to-reach spaces inside walls, and much more.

SERVPRO® also uses state-of-the-art monitoring equipment and a proven scientific process
to help speed the drying of your home or business.

3 Reasons Mold Grows

2/24/2020 (Permalink)

Drying equipment drying an office floor Water damage in a Pearland, TX office causing secondary damage

3 Reasons Mold Grows

According to many mold remediation professionals, there are a few reasons mold growth could occur at your Pearland, TX, business. However, understanding the sources of these problems could help you take preventative steps. Here’s what you may want to know.

1. Moisture Problems

In many cases, water damage can become a contributing factor to spore growth. This is because mold needs areas of high humidity to grow and a persistent source of water such as flooding or a leak provides this. In addition to creating a humid environment, water can also lead to a breakdown of organic materials in the area which is another contributing factor to spore growth. If you have water damage on your company property it’s best to fix the issue as quickly as possible.

2. Dim Conditions

In many cases, mold growth is found in dark areas or those with dim lighting. This is partially because these areas are usual cooler than spaces in the sunlight, but also because for some varieties the darker conditions creates a higher relative humidity which may allow the reproductive mechanisms of the mold spores to work faster. This is one reason why mold is found in basements, attics, and in spaces behind walls.

3. Organic Fuel Sources

As a fungi mold absorbs nutrients from organic materials around it. This can be structural material such as wood or drywall, or more decorative like wallpaper or carpeting. With a source like this is available in a dim or dark area of high humidity it creates a prime habitat for spore growth.
In most cases, mold growth requires a few conditions in order to thrive. These include moisture which can create humidity, dim light which often helps keep the area cooler, and an organic fuel source. Understanding this growth process can help you take preventative steps. If you do find problems a restoration professional can help.

The Different Causes of Commercial Water Damage

Work Place Water Damage is Restored by SERVPRO

When business owners visualize water damage, they often picture a massive storm wiping out power lines, flooding offices, and shutting down businesses for days at a time. It is true that commercial water damage is often the result of floods and water that stems from weather events and storms.

However, many entrepreneurs and business space renters forget that storms and severe weather aren't the only causes of floods and water damage. Here are some of the typical causes of water damage to commercial buildings.

1. Malfunctioning sprinkler systems
Some older office and retail buildings still have outdated sprinkler systems that work in conjunction with fire protection systems. While such sprinklers can come in handy during a fire emergency, they can also cause commercial flood damage if they are faulty or in need of replacement. This could easily damage inventory and business assets.

2. Damaged appliances and equipment
This cause of commercial flood damage is more common in restaurants and catering facilities, as well as any business that has appliances and equipment that make use of water. If the appliance fails and sends water across your building, especially during late hours when no one is around, you may come back to work and face a water emergency.

3. Broken pipes and plumbing
Just like in a residence, if the plumbing system in your workplace fails water damage could be the result.

4. Backed up sewer lines
This is another cause of commercial water damage that often catches business owners by surprise. Should the sewer line to your building back up or become damaged, realize the potential dangers of contaminated Black Water which can cause health effects and ruin products and office furnishings.

If your business has suffered commercial water damage, SERVPRO of South Pasadena will get you back up and running again. Call us anytime 24/7 at (713) 472-4162 for fast help.

Road sign reading Spring Cleaning ahead and sky in the background Spring Cleaning is Coming!

Spring is coming and it's the ideal opportunity to refresh your work-place. Winter months normally mean windows stay shut, and dirt and grime from boots and heavy shoes gets tracked onto the floor. Spring cleaning isn't just for your home, you should do the same for your business. SERVPRO of South Pasadena offers plenty of services that can help your work and even your home start the season fresh!

Clean Your Air Ducts and HVAC

Your air ducts and HVAC unit work hard throughout the winter to keep your customers and employees warm. The ventilation system should be properly cleaned in the spring to make sure the air quality in your restaurant is not poor. If it has not been serviced for some time, your air could be circulating dust, pollen, odors and dirt and debris. Our technicians and equipment can clean out your system and make sure everyone breathes easier in the new season.

Kitchen Cleaning

Checking the hoods in the kitchen is usually a twice a year job, so what better time to start than for spring cleaning. Cleaning the pilots lights (if it is gas) is also a good idea. Just make sure to follow manufacturer’s instructions. Empty and sanitize the ice machine, and wipe down walls, ceilings and dry storage areas. SERVPRO of South Pasadena offers great commercial cleaning options as well, so give us a call if there are items you want the professionals to fix.

Rugs and Carpets

If your business uses rugs or carpet, springtime is a great time to freshen them as well. If the furniture in your work-place does not often move, tracks from normal foot traffic can start to wear down your rugs or carpets. When they become matted, these items also hold in an abundance of dust and debris that is carried in on shoes. A proper cleaning will get rid of the smells and the dust!

SERVPRO of South Pasadena is only a phone call away if you need a professional to help freshen up for spring.

Did you know there are over 360 high rises in Houston according to ipsf.io?

Here at SERVPRO of South Pasadena, we are no stranger to working amongst the clouds. In fact, we have serviced many of the high rises in Downtown Houston and the Galleria area. What a lot of people do not know is that when there is water damage on a higher floor that water will continue to travel down the longer it sits. It does not stop just because it hits a wall. The damage will continue to follow gravity even as it is being cleaned, so it must be repaired from top to bottom not bottom to top. For a skyscraper with a busted pipe on the highest floor, that could be as many as 40 or more floors to clean and repair! Our most recent high rise was a 22-story building that became saturated from a busted pipe near the roof. Luckily for them, we were there and knew exactly how to handle this situation. After 2 days of cleaning and 3 days of drying, a total of 5 days the job, it was completed and life returned to normal.
