Dirty sewage from the pipe, environmental pollution When a sewage issue arises in your home, SERVPRO of South Pasadena is here to take it down. Contact us now!

Picture this: You are going about your day getting everyone up and out the door of your home and things seem to be going smoothly until you arrive at work. When you unlock the doors, you are hit with an overwhelming smell of what seems to be sewage.

Upon investigation, you discover that a sewage line in the back of your warehouse busted overnight and now there is a huge mess and disaster situation to deal with. Now what? That’s where we come in!

SERVPROof South Pasadena has a highly trained sewage cleanup crew that can come out to your property right away to contain and clean up the area.

Different Kinds of Water

Water leaks can happen all over your property, but that doesn’t automatically make them toxic situations.

White water is the type of water that is flowing out of your sinks and faucets and is meant to be consumed. Gray water is the wastewater used after doing things like brushing your teeth, running a load of laundry or washing your hands. It can still be handled, but must be done so safely to avoid ingesting it.

Black water is where it gets to be really dangerous. Black water is the category of water where toxic substances have been introduced to the water. Bloodborne pathogens, sewage and chemical runoff can make this water dangerous to consume or handle.

Discovering the Leak

It may be your first instinct to jump right into the situation and try to locate the leak and tackle the cleanup yourself, but we really don’t recommend that you do that. Sewage water can be dangerous or even deadly to handle. You could be creating a worse problem for yourself and your staff if you try to deal with it alone.

The first thing you should do is locate any water valves that could be pumping more water into the area and shut them off. This can at least stop the problem from getting worse at the moment.

Then you should section off the area and inform your staff of the situation so that they can help make sure other team members and potential customers avoid the area completely. Now it’s time to get us on the phone!

Where We Can Help

Our crew will come out right away to evaluate the situation and make some quick decisions. We will focus on keeping everyone safe while working hard to discover the source of the leak or the problem that caused the sewage to pour onto your floor.

Once the repairs are identified, we can get to work cleaning, sanitizing and restoring the entire area. We will remove the sewage, clean the entire area and employ deodorizers to tackle any lingering unpleasant smells.

Let us handle the mess! We have the necessary tools and protective equipment to stay safe while we work, so leave the sewage to us so you can focus on keeping everyone else safe around you.

1/18/2021 (Permalink)

Biohazard Hiring SERVPRO of South Pasadena to handle hazardous cleanup is a smart and cost-effective choice.

During a violent crime, injuries and even death can leave health hazards behind. Blood stains and other bodily fluids can transmit disease if they are not addressed properly, and inexperienced cleaners can face risks if the proper cleanup techniques are not used. If your property has been the site of a violent crime, hiring SERVPRO of South Pasadena to handle hazardous cleanup is a smart and cost-effective choice.

Cleanup Crew Safety

The proper handling of blood and other bodily fluids during crime scene cleanup is essential to protect the health of the cleaners on the job. Our professional crime scene cleaners have both the experience and the resources to address any hazards that may remain at a crime scene without risking exposure to disease, either to the cleanup crew or to anyone who might access the area during or after crime scene cleanup. Not only will SERVPRO of South Pasadena use the right techniques to prevent health hazards, they will also bring with them any and all equipment necessary, rather than requiring you to research and purchase the tools and solutions needed to clean blood stains and other signs of a violent crime.

Occupant Safety and Convenience

If crime scene cleanup is not completed properly, the crime site can remain a serious health hazard long after the initial event. Many blood- and fluid-borne diseases remain active threats for significant periods of time, while other issues such as pests or mold could put building occupants at further risk if the crime scene is not properly cleaned. SERVPRO of South Pasadena will not only ensure the site is cleaned quickly and with minimal disruption to your daily schedule, but also prevent the many problems that can arise when crime scene cleanup is not handled properly and thoroughly. Crime scene cleanup is a job that is always best left to professional cleaners for health, safety, and peace of mind. Working with SERVPRO of South Pasadena will protect you and your property from the potential long-term effects of violent crime.

Don't Be A Hoarder

1/11/2019 (Permalink)

This home fell victim to what was considered "hoarding" and started a fire that consumed 90% of the home.

As a fire restoration team, our technicians are in client's homes and personal spaces to remediate damaged areas.

Hoarding items can be the main reason why fires start in homes. Fire is one of many dangers in a hoarded home because much of the clutter consists of flammable materials. Fires can also occur when objects cover a heat vent or damaged wires. Moreover, clutter obstructs residents in case of a fire and first responders may not be able to navigate a hoarded home to rescue residents.

When the entire home is clutter-free, repairs should be done if needed. These can include repainting, re-carpeting, or damage restoration (after the fire, water, mold, or biohazard damage). Then, all the contents in the house including the salvageable items are disinfected.
